Solar Energy for Safer Healthcare

Who We Are

Organization Overview

NextGen Solar Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to reducing maternal and neonatal mortality in remote and underserved regions of developing countries. We provide reliable, solar-powered lighting systems to off-grid clinics, enabling safe childbirth and emergency care at any time of day. Our approach integrates durable technology, local capacity building, and data-driven monitoring to ensure sustainable, long-term impact.

Problem Statement

Challenges in Remote Clinics

Hundreds of thousands of mothers and newborns die each year from preventable causes. A major contributor is the lack of reliable lighting in remote clinics. In many low-income countries:
Unsafe lighting conditions lead to increased mortality, higher infection rates, reduced staff morale, and limited community trust in local health facilities. Reliable lighting is one of the most cost-effective interventions to improve maternal and newborn outcomes. Solar lighting provides an immediate, sustainable solution that eliminates the need for fuel, batteries, or unreliable grid power
